El Salvador Engagement in La Libertad

A + D and I planned an El Salvador engagement session during October in La Libertad, El Salvador.

How it went:

If you’re not familiar with this El Salvador, there is a season when pebble rocks overwhelm the beautiful tropical beaches. I scouted multiple beaches trying to find smooth black sand we could use, but it seemed the tides were too high or the pebbles overtook the shores. Things were not going according to plan, until a local recommended Playa El Sunzal in La Libertad, El Salvador and off I went. I parked my car on a cobblestone street that transitioned to sand. I stopped at a local market in the village to ask directions to the beach. This man pointed me in my direction and warned me that I would need to cross a small river that rose with the tide. We like a bit of adventure, no? This was the spot for A + D El Salvador engagement session.

A+ D met me here after crossing the treacherous 3 foot deep river (maybe it was less, I’m only 5’2.99”). Hues of reds, oranges, and purples began to leak across the sky as we were nearing sunset. They held hands and walked into the warm waves as I captured every moment between the two. From giggles of finding balance on the rocks to sharing a kiss while the sun glowed across their skin. These to-be-newlyweds dawned their wedding rings excitedly anticipating their wedding day. They exchanged looks of admiration and I was honored to capture them. In one instance of meeting A + D, I felt the closeness between the two. D was a natural model and A showed me the fastest twirl El Salvador has ever seen.
